We come and get your car across most of Greater Cincinnati. How far out you are decides the minimum on the repair, and nothing else changes.

Prices current as of August 2026. Larger trucks and SUVs run higher. Air conditioning concerns sometimes need a recharge before we can evaluate them, and that price varies by vehicle. You get the number before we start.

I am consistently impressed by the service at Bear Car Care. I have been having my cars serviced with Bear Car Care for 5+ years now and won't go anywhere else for my car needs. First time customer and was really WOW'd by Andrew and his team!! They did an amazing job trouble shooting my tire issue; ordered, installed new tires and completed an oil change in one day. I refuse to go anywhere else for service because they are the best! Bear Car Care will come pick up my car while I'm at work and bring it back to me. It's so easy. They also give me live updates on what's going on with my car, including pictures showing me that parts will need to be replaced soon. I have a 1999 SUV, and, although it has more wrong with it, all I wanted done is one window fixed (it would not go up). BTW, I love their drop-off and pick-up options! I chose drop-off, because they're only about 2 blocks from my house. I dropped it off in the late morning and it was done that afternoon! Everyone tells me the labor charge and overall price was very reasonable. Now I can drive the old bomb when it's cold or raining! I'll be going back there if I have other vehicle repair needs!
Always has the best service. They document everything with pictures too and actually only suggest things you need, with proof. It's hard to find an honest mechanic and this is one of the few! Also, the pickup service is a true work of art that makes it super convenient to get everything done!

Do you really pick up my car for free?
Within five driving miles of the shop, yes, with no minimum. From 5.1 to 10 driving miles it’s free on a ticket of $130 or more. From 10.1 to 20 driving miles it’s free on a ticket of $150 or more. You pick a time on our scheduler and we pick the car up, then bring it back when it’s finished. More than 20 driving miles away? You’re outside our pickup area, so schedule a drop-off or call us.
What does a diagnostic cost?
It depends on how hard the problem is to find, so we posted the whole chart above. Tier 1 is free when you buy the service and covers most brake, steering, suspension, battery, charging, heating, cooling and exhaust-noise concerns. Tier 2 is $160 and covers most warning lights and electrical faults. Tier 3 starts at $250 and you get the estimate before we start.
What if you find nothing wrong?
Then you don’t pay us. Typically we’re not charging anything unless we’re actually fixing something. We’ve handed keys back over a rock stuck in a wheel more than once.
How long has Bear Car Care been around?
The shop traces back to 1948, when this corner of Cheviot Road was Western Hills Alignment. It’s changed hands a few times since. Andrew took it over in 2015 and runs it today. Our technicians have 74 years of combined experience between them.
Are your technicians certified?
Yes. Our technicians are ASE certified, and we’re a NAPA AutoCare Center, BBB accredited with an A+ rating, and a CARFAX Top-Rated Service Center.
What's your warranty?
Two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, on most services we perform. If something we fixed doesn’t hold, bring it back.
What don't you work on?
We’re a mechanical shop, so no body work and no collision repair. We also don’t take on European vehicles. Hybrids and Japanese imports are no problem.

The West Side, mostly: White Oak, Monfort Heights, Mt. Airy, Cheviot, Westwood, Dent, Northside and Colerain, plus the neighborhoods listed above. If you’re not sure whether we come out your way, call and ask.
What are your hours?
Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm. We’re closed weekends, but there’s an after-hours drop box at the shop if you’d rather leave the car overnight.
